Samsung has launched the Galaxy S23 series smartphones, which succeed the Galaxy S22 line-up from 2022. The new Galaxy S23 phones may not look very different, but Samsung promises a lot of changes under the hood. Here’s everything you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy S23 series including the price, specifications and features of all the phones.
There are three phones this time around also, including the vanilla Galaxy S23, a larger Galaxy S23 Plus, and the top-end Galaxy S23 Ultra. The phones come with a slightly boxier design, which now looks more uniform across the three variants. While the Galaxy S23 Plus looks like a larger version of the base Galaxy S23, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is still recognisable because of the extra camera sensors and S-Pen slot on the bottom of the phone.

All three phones are also now powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, the fastest chipset you can currently find on Android phones. This is coupled with UFS 4.0 storage, which offers twice as fast data transfers and other everyday tasks compared to other recent flagships. Note that the 128GB variant of the phone still comes with UFS 3.1 storage, and it is the 256GB variant onwards that you will see the UFS 4.0 storage make their way into the phone.
Samsung Galaxy S23 specifications, features
The base Samsung Galaxy S23, being the most compact of the series, features a 6.1-inch 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display panel with 240Hz touch sampling. The display is now protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and the phone comes with a 3,900mAh battery with support for wireless charging and 25W fast wired charging.
The phone also gets a triple-camera setup on the back including a 50MP main camera with OIS (optical image stabilisation) along with a 10MP telephoto and 12MP ultrawide sensor. You can record 8K videos at up to 30fps, and 4K at up to 60fps. The front camera is a 12MP sensor now, and other features include stereo speakers, NFC, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and Android 13-based One UI 5.1.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus specifications, features
The larger Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus comes with a 6.6-inch 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display panel, also protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Unlike the S23, the S23 Plus now starts at 256GB storage only, meaning all its variants will feature UFS 4.0 storage. There’s also a larger 4,700mAh battery now, that can fast charge at up to 45W instead of 25W, along with supporting 10W wireless charging.
You also get an identical camera setup on the back like the S23, including the 50MP main, 10MP telephoto and 12MP ultrawide sensors. Support for 8K recording is also present, while the front camera here as well is a 12MP unit. The S23 continues to be basically a larger variant of the base S23, but this time, you also get faster charging in addition to a larger screen and battery.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra specifications, features
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is where things get interesting. The Ultra model is one of the most powerful Android phones of each year and the Galaxy S23 Ultra is no different. The phone sports a large 6.8-inch 120Hz QHD+ panel which also comes with 1750 nits peak brightness, as well as Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Also starting at 256GB storage and 8GB RAM, the S23 Ultra can also be purchased with up to 12GB RAM and 1TB storage. The phone has a pocket for the S-pen stylus on the bottom, and other features like NFC, stereo speakers, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and Android 13-based One UI 5.1 are present here as well.
The camera layout is quite different with the Ultra, as you now get four cameras on the back including a 200MP main camera with Laser Autofocus and OIS, along with a 10MP telephoto lens, another 10MP periscope lens and a 12MP ultrawide camera.
